The Western Ghats, also called the ‘Sahyadri’, is a mountain range that covers a stretch of 1,600 kilometres, parallel to the western coast of the Indian peninsula, traversing the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
