    East Nepal, North India, North Bangladesh and Indochina (mainly in Cambodia). Breed only in Assam valley, Bihar and Cambodia
    Habitat:
    These birds live alone or in small groups in shallow water ponds, dried ponds or landfills, fish ponds, swamps, paddy fields. Sometimes these birds are accompanied by eagles and vultures. They are often seen sitting with their backs bent or their wings outstretched
